Arkansans will soon be able to get married on March 21, after a federal judge issued an injunction preventing the state from enforcing the state’s ban on same-sex marriage.
In his order on Wednesday, U.S. District Judge James H. Smith ordered that the U.K. Court of Appeal in the Northern District of Georgia issue an opinion in favor of the plaintiffs, asking the U,K.
Supreme Court to overturn the ruling.
The ruling, which will take effect as early as March 21 if not earlier, will allow married same-gender couples in the state to wed, the judge said.
