What’s going on in Arkansas?

A couple is the latest couple to be married in Arkansas, after a judge struck down the state’s ban on same-sex marriages.

The Arkansas Supreme Court issued a temporary injunction on Friday, ruling that a state law prohibiting same-gender marriages violates the U.S. Constitution’s equal protection clause.

The ruling came as same-day marriage ceremonies have been performed in Arkansas since 2013.

The court also said Arkansas should recognize the marriages of couples who have already married in other states.
